Visiting Good Shepherd
Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Good Shepherd will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.
Services

Our main worship service is Sunday morning at 10:30am.

Worship is the act of loving and responding to God! Through the heart-warming, music and the clear, Bible teaching and preaching in our services, your heart will be inspired to love and to respond to God. Each week, families are strengthened, encouraged, and drawn closer to Him through these special times together. Each service is carefully planned and prayed over so that God may work in your life!

What to Expect
You can’t miss our growing campus just off of highway 67 on State Road 144. As you approach the main worship center, one of our hospitality greeters will meet you and direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer other questions you may have.

The main service begin with Christ-centered music, followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Sichting. This service is a little over one hour in length. During the 9:30am hour, there are children’s and adult Bible fellowships. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and donuts, and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people at Good Shepherd is to visit one of these smaller class settings.

Children
Where do I take my children?
Starting with our infant nursery, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For the infants, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
Teens
What about my teens?
We refer to both Junior High and Senior High as LIGHT.

During the 9:30am hour, our student ministries are broken down by Junior High and Senior High.
Jarod and Anita Elmore along with Doug and Samantha Dunagan, work specifically with Junior High students; Caleb and Ashley Allen work specifically with Senior High students.

Wednesday nights we have a combined Bible Study, that meets during the adult midweek Bible Study. This Bible study is where the name LIGHT came from, they originally called this meeting specifically LIGHT (Learning In God’s House Together) and later decided to refer to all student ministries and events as LIGHT.

They also have fun group activities (camps, paintball, retreats, bowling, etc.) scheduled throughout the year to help build a deeper relationship to Christ, and lasting relationships among the students.
FAQ
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Good Shepherd Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Good Shepherd!
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Good Shepherd Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
